Scratch posts

Scratch post models:

Single scratch post

The single scratch post is hard to beat for enticing the cats away from the furniture. Especially the larger cats are looking for something to reach up on and go after. I had a cat which wore through the rope in six months. It turns out it was using the post for fifteen minutes twice a day. That's a lot of scratching time.

Double scratch post

The Double Scratch Post has the vertical and sloped poles to vary the scratching direction. The taller version is much the best, if you have room, to give your cat the reach for scratching high up. Options are:

Height:  Twenty-eight or forty-two inches tall.

The base:  Carpeted or finished and stained pine wood.

Top level:  Small rectangle to match the base, Leaf (twenty four inches by sixteen inches), Large dish (twenty inches in diameter), Small flower (twenty inches), Large flower (twenty-four inches in diameter).

Log scratch post

The Log scratch post sits on the floor and many cats prefer scratching downwards, or at least as much as reaching up to scratch. Set a few of them around next to the furniture that they are scratching. They will prefer the sisal rope.
