How the trees are made.

The structure of the tree is shaped, solid wood. The attachment of the elements of the trees is by half-inch nuts and bolts and in almost all cases, the nuts are welded to a metal plate and built into the dishes and other platforms so that the trees can be assembled by spinning the parts into place. There is a matching bolt, also with a welded plate, for them to spin onto. The attachment of the tree trunks and poles is by a long bolt which runs up through the base and into the tree, where there is another welded nut to screw into. It will take a three-quarter inch socket to tighten the bolt from underneath the base with about eighty foot-pounds of torque. I have made every effort to make the assembly as easy as possible.

The platforms are a molded composite wood, glued with a safe, water-based glue and then carpeted with a high-quality cut-pile carpet. There are leaves, dishes, flowers, hammocks, caves, Clamshells and ramps to choose from (see below). For the indoor, all-wood trees, there are pine-wood, flat platforms. For the outdoor trees, there are the same and they are made with Western Red Cedar.

Dish:

Leaf:

The leaf is twenty-four inches long by 16 inches wide.

It has two big advantages for tree customisation:

   * It is more compact, the curve tucked against the tree trunk.

   * It is as long as the large flower so cats can stretch out.

Small flower:

The same size as the large dish, twenty inches diameter.

The indent between petals can be aligned to aim at the   the dish below, making the jump up easier.

The indent can also be against the tree trunk so that the   tree is more compact.

Large flower:

  Twenty-four inches in diameter.

 Five inches deep.

Will accommodate two large cats who like to cuddle up.

The indent on the large flower will fit against the trunk (as   shown)   so that the overall width of the tree is the same as   the tree with   large dishes.

I highly recommend the large flower for the top level. It is   where   the cats will often spend most of their time.
